Washed Out Again!

Raceway 7 fell victim to rain yet again at the 3rd attempt to run the Fall Classic. A steady light rain fell during the morning with intermittent heavier showers and with more rain in the forecast the decision was made to cancel the show.

The Classic will be rescheduled as the Freedom Classic on July 4th with the Robert’s Trucking Ohio Nationals $3000 to win for Super Lates. The show will also include E-Mods. Owner Ron Nielson felt “the weather is too unpredictable in May and with the Schwartz Construction LTD and Excavating IRS Super Late Ohio Speedweek opener scheduled for May 23rd we didn’t want to chance having specials back to back twice during the season.”

Rainchecks from 9/7/07 and 9/14/07 will be good throughout the season. They can be used towards any special event. General Admission ticket holders can use them for a “2 for 1″ admission on any regular night or exchange theirs for 2 regular admissions. Five tickets from the 9/7/07 50 - 50 will be drawn each night through May 23. If at that time the money is not claimed we will add $120. to each of the next four drawings.

May 9th will start the 2008 points chase and feature the 4th annual Street Stock Race of Champions. Driver’s have asked for a different purse structure so Raceway 7 has changed it for the 4th running - instead of ‘winner takes all’ the race will pay 3 places with the Big Kahuna taking home bragging rights and $300, 2nd place will pay $200 and the 3rd place driver will pocket $100. Past winners of the event are Rob Blair, Alan Dellinger and Rusty Wheeler. Also on the card will be the Precision Weld Fab Fastrak Late Models, the Applebee Motorsports E-Mods, Joslin Landis Insurance Agency Street Stocks and the Challenger Mini Stocks. The new Raceway 7 apparel will also be available on May 9th.

In other news: In the works for May 30th will be a car load night! Pack the stands with friends by carpooling to your favorite NE Ohio spot for exciting dirt track racing! Details on this event will be announced soon. We are pleased to announce that ESAB Welding and Fab will sponsor the July 25th racing events along with their employee night at Raceway 7. Please check www.raceway7.com for upcoming events and remember to support our sponsors!!

On a personal note - it was brought to my attention that the schedules available on practice nights listed the Ohio Nationals as 5,000 to win. It was to be 3,000 to win in 2008. I aplogize for any inconvenience or misunderstanding due to my error. Pam.
