2010 Rules Now Posted

Conneaut, OH (August 4, 2010): The ground-pounding Super Late Models of Chris Zuver’s United Late Model Series will storm into Raceway 7 August 6 (this Friday) for their only appearance this season. All regular divisions will also have regular racing. In addition, Raceway 7 will celebrate it’s 40th anniversary with a gala reunion of personalities from its 40-year history gathering at the stage area behind the main grandstands starting at 6 PM. During intermission the notables will be introduced to the assembled crowd. The night will not have ANY increase in admission cost! All this and fireworks too!

ULMS stars expected to compete include former ULMS points champion Bob Close, David Scott, Dennis Lunger, Jason Dupont, 4-time Raceway 7 champion Dick Barton, and several others. A full field is expected for this event.

The Schwartz Construction FASTRAK Late Models will have a regular show. It nine outings this season, Max Blair has driven to Victory Lane on eight occasions and leads the standings by a very comfortable margin or 242 points over his nearest competitor, Bill Cunningham Sr. Then there is another 44 point gap back to third-running Bud Watson. The only night the young Blair did not go to Victory Lane was when a flat tire slowed his effort, handing the win to his father, Rob Blair. The big question is, “Can anyone beat Max Blair?”

The Zimmer Service Center E-Mods have seen several winners this season, headed by two-time winners Joel Watson and Rich Michael Jr. Russ Dunn, who picked up his first win of the season last Friday, leads the points standings with Watson 67-points back. Winless Rich Gardner runs third, another another 34 in arrears of Watson.

Ken Zimmer, with one win this season, enjoys a 56-point edge over Ed Bolyard a two-time winner in the Campbell’s Mini Storage Street Stocks. Shaun Fawcett won three in a row and appeared to be catching Zimmer for the lead until disaster struck last Friday in the form of a wild flip down the front stretch at the very start of his heat race, putting an end to his night of racing and dropping him to third in the standings, 38-points behind Bolyard.

Jon Boyd, on the strength of five feature wins, three runnerup finishes, and one third place effort, leads the Evergreen Lake Campground Mini-Stocks, although not by the margin one would expect. Due to several poor finishes in heat action, Boyd’s lead is a mere 14-points over Bud Sergeff, who has done very well in heat races and been near the front in feature events. Trailing Sergeff by 189-points is Jason Easler, winless on the season.

Gates open every Friday at 5:30 PM with pill draw cut off at 7 PM and racing at 7:30 PM. VIP suites are available for rental for $250 a night which includes eight general admissions passes. Adult general admission is $10 and pit passes are $25. For more information please visit www.raceway7.com or call the track on race day after 12 noon at 440-594-2222.

Fastrak Late Models Will Be Running a Regular Show on Friday August 6th .  Full Purse will be paid, however no Crate Late Models will be allowed to compete in the Super Late Model Division.  The night will consist of all regular divisions racing plus the ULMS Super Late Models!

Conneaut, OH (July 30, 2010): It was Fan Appreciation Night at Raceway 7 with reduced concession pricing and give-a-ways from the track to over thirty lucky fans. Along with the fan goodies, a Powder Puff event was held with ladies driving Mini Stocks. Four ladies reported to the track for the Powder Puff with Beverly Plesniak getting the victory, driving her Joe Plesniak’s car.

Billy Henry and Mike Mitchell started on the front row of the Schwartz Construction FASTRAK Late Model feature with Henry, a former Steel Block Late Model Champion, leading the way with 7-time winner Max Blair second at the end of one lap. By Lap five Blair was hounding Henry at every turn. When lap seven was completed, the two came by the flag even. One lap later, Blair was solely in control of the lead. Justin Kreider spun in turn three at that point for the first caution of the event. At the halfway point Chad Wright spun in turn two and was collected by John Volpe for caution number two. The final caution came at lap 14 when Kreider again spun, this time in turn two. After green, Mike Mitchell got by Henry for second but Blair was driving away to win number eight on the season. Mitchell was second with Henry third, Bud Watson fourth and Kyle Zimmerman fifth.
