Raceway 7 followes the UEMS Rules with exception to the following
Spoilers: Maximum 8″
Tires: 8″ wheel with open tire rule (any brand or compound)
1. Driver Qualification: Drivers who compete in this division cannot compete in any other division.
2. Driver Age: All drivers must be at least 16 years old and have a valid driver’s license. All drivers under the age of 18 must have a minor release form filled out before they compete. Forms can be obtained at the registration booth and must be signed by a parent or guardian and participant. All previous drivers will be grandfathered in.
3. Body & Frames: This class is open to any American made passenger car excluding compact, jeeps, trucks, wagons, convertibles, El Caminos, Rancheros, and sports cars (corvettes, etc.). o front wheel drive cars. Wheel base should be stock for the make and model car used plus or minus 1 inch. Faulty welding will be rejected. After market bodies may be used. Old race frames may be used, but must be at least 2” by 3” rectangular tubing,. All doors must be welded or bolted shut. No open tail panels. Sheet metal must extend at least to the bumper. Cars must have a full floor. All Chrome, glass and lights must be removed. Dashes may be removed. Parts of rear frame may be replaced with tubing. No Mirrors! All interior upholstery must be removed including back seats. All tube cars must weigh 3100 lbs minimum.
4. Numbering & Painting: All cars must be neat in appearance, numbers must be at least 18” on both doors and roof and a 4” by 4” plate on the right front corner of the windshield with the cars number on it.
5. Hood & Trunk: All hoods and trunks must have pins installed for easy access. Hoods may have 14” hole cut for air cleaners.
6. Bumpers: All bumpers must be bolted or welded to the frame securely. No sharp edges allowed and bumpers cannot be wider than the car’s body. Chains must be attached to the front and back bumpers and easily accessible for towing purposes.
7. Windshields: All Glass must be removed. At least a ½” mesh screening in good shape with at least 1 solid bar from roll cage down to dash area (on entire windshield) must be installed.
8. Roll Cage: The roll cage must be a 4 post roll cage with a minimum wall thickness of .083 and 1 ½” diameter. The driver area must be padded and have a headrest. The roll cage must extend above drivers head and match roof line of car. Roll Cages must be mounted to the frame. A firewall must be installed between the driver and the fuel cell.
9. Safety: All cars must have an approved working five point crotch, seat belt and shoulder harness racing type seat belts and window net. All seat belts must be bolted to the roll cage. Drivers must have fire retardant clothing (fires suite, gloves, helmets, etc. ) Helmets must be ASA or Snelling approved. A Fire extinguisher must be fully charged and mounted in an inside area accessible from the inside or outside by the driver or officials.
10. Fuel Cell: A Fuel Cell must be installed with a minimum of 3 safety straps and be securely fasted to the frame in the trunk of the car with a steel firewall between it and the driver. All fuel cells must be top feed and all fuel lines that run with the interior of the car must be incased in metal tubing. Fuel cells must have a 1/8” plate covering the bottom. No Alcohol allowed as well as no fuel additives. Gasoline only will be used!
11. Engines & Radiators: No aluminum heads will be allowed as well as no dry sumps, no turbos and no MSD Ignition systems. Stock Ignitions are allowed only. No Electric fuel pumps will be allowed. Stock position pumps only. Radiators must be in good condition. Aluminum radiators are permitted.
12. Batteries. All batteries must be in an enclosed bolted metal container. Batteries are not permitted to be installed in the Drivers Compartment.
13. Exhaust: Exhaust manifolds and headers allowed with exhaust extending to the outside of car and not straight down to ground.
14. Suspensions: No mono leaf springs allowed. Stacked springs must be used. No coil over springs. Weight jacks are permitted on one shock per wheel.
15. Rear Ends: No Quick Change Rear Ends Allowed.
16. Communication: No Radios Allowed.
17. Weight: All weights and drive shafts must be painted white with cars numbers on it and bolted securely. No weights mounted in drivers compartment.
18. Wheels: Cars must have reinforced wheels with oversized lug nuts and oversized (at least ½” inside, 1” outside) studs. STEEL racing wheels are mandatory. NO Aluminum wheels permitted. Bead lock rims are permitted. Mud plugs are permitted. NO WINTER TREAD PATTERNS permitted. Wheel size may be 8 to 10 inches. No 4 Bolt Patterns Allowed. No wide five hubs Allowed.
19.Transmissions: Any Racing Transmission & Clutch Allowed.
20. Scales: Race track scales are official weight, weigh any time before or after for true weight. ALL CARS MUST WEIGH 2900lbs AFTER RACE
21. Tires: Grooving is allowed. Open Tire Brand Rule Allowed. An 11” tire is Maximum. Cars using an 11” tire or 10” wheel must have a 4412 two barrel carburetor and weigh 3000 lbs minimum after the race. Cars using an 8” tire can run any two barrel or 3310 four barrel carburetor and must weigh a minimum of 2900 lbs. at the end of the race.
22. Spoilers: Cars running an 11” tire can run a maximum 4” spoiler. Cars running an 8” tire can run a maximum 6” spoiler.

1. SAFETY: All cars will be subject to an inspection prior to racing and must pass inspection in order to be eligible to race. All decisions on safety will be left to the officials and or the promoter of Raceway 7 and will be final. Safety will not be substituted for performance for any reason.
This is a novice division and is intended for entry level drivers only. In the interest of safety and fair competition, rules may be changed (with sufficient notice) through out the season. Any refusals to comply with the safety standards set forth by the officials, will result in the ineligibility of the car until it meets the related requirements. No exceptions.
Other safety rules will be the following: batteries must remain under the hood. It must be in a tray and have a minimum of two hold down bolts. It is recommended you have a foot pull back on the gas pedal. All interior upholstery and seats must be removed as well as the dash pad foam or anything that would create a fire hazard. All air bags must be removed. All holes in the floor and front and rear firewalls must be patched. Window nets are mandatory and mounting will be subject to approval. All glass and plastic lenses must be removed as well as any molding or chrome on the outside of the body. Windshield screening is mandatory and must be substantial material. No chicken wire or aluminum screening. 1 inch by 1 inch square maximum, 3 bars of ½ inch tubing must be installed in front of the driver to protect him or her from objects coming through windshield screening. All cars must have a properly rated and charged fire extinguisher that is securely mounted and within reach of the driver and safety crew’s reach.
2. HELMETS AND CLOTHING: All drivers must have an ASA or SNELL approved helmet and neck brace, fire suit (Two Ply Recommended) with fire retardant shoes and gloves. NOMEX socks, underwear and hood sock is highly recommended. Fire suppression systems are also highly recommended.
3. ROLL CAGE: must be six post design. 11A.095 DOM steel tubing minimum only. No soft metals of any kind. P/I 120 wall thicknesses recommended. The bottoms of each post must be connected to each other with 1 ½ inch round or 2×2 box tubing by creating ax “X” or a box with a cross brace. The structural integrity of a uni-bodied car is not strong enough to attach the bottoms of the posts also. Each post must be connected as to create a 6 sided box. 2 down bars from the back of the halo down to the rear sub frame. This will be the only allowable basic design. 2 inches of clearance minimum, between the top of the driver’s head with helmet, to the halo is mandatory. All tubing that would come into contact with the driver’s body must be padded. 3 horizontal door bars, minimum with vertical interlocking supports that are gusseted to the horizontal bars are mandatory on the driver’s and passenger’s sides of the car. A cross brace or “X” behind the driver’s head must start at the top left post down to the bottom right post. A horizontal bar must surround the perimeter of the car at dash height. These are not the maximum numbers of bars. These are a minimum number of bars. More bars placed in a strategic location to protect the driver is highly recommended. All intersections of 2 or more bars must be gusseted with 1/8 inch steel gussets. All welds will be subject to approval an must pass in order to race.
4. SEATS AND BELTS: Aluminum High Back Racing Seats only. NO FIBERGLASS OR PLASTIC. Seats must match the size of the driver. All seats must be bolted to a mount that is welded to the roll cage only. NO FLOOR MOUNTED SEATS WILL BE ALLOWED. Mounts must be isolated from the floor. Approved seat mounting kits are readily available and can be copied if fabricating your own. All seats will be bolted with a minimum of 6 bolts, 3/8 “grade and with a nylon lock nut and an oversized washer. 4 bolts into the seat mount and 2 at the top into a gusset that is welded to the bar at dash height.
Belts will be a 5 point safety harness only. They must have a manufactured date of less than 3 years to the month. All bolts will be a maximum of ½” grade 8 with a nylon lock nut and an oversized washer. One inch gussets with a ½” hole for the bolt will be the only acceptable mount. These gussets will be positioned so that they are in line with the belt and must be welded to the seat mount. The shoulder harness bolts must be bolted to a gusset or wrapped around the cross bar.
5. FUEL CELLS: are highly recommended. Recommended 12 gallon max fuel cell. Stock gas tanks can be used but must be in the protection of a 1/8” thick steel box. It must be mounted in the trunk floor and have a minimum clearance of 2 inches around the perimeter of the cell or tank. Two by Two (2×2) box tubing can be added to the rear sub frame for fuel cell mounting and down bars. A minimum of 2×2 inch wide x 1/8” thick flat steel that completely surrounds the cell will be the only allowable method for mounting. No fuel lines in the driver’s compartment. All lines must be rated for high pressure. All cars will have a fuel pump shut off switch that is labeled accordingly and must be in plain view and be within the driver’s and safety crew’s reach.
6. BATTERY DISCONNECT SWITCH: mandatory and must be within driver’s and safety crew’s reach.
7. BODIES: No aftermarket bodies. Bodies must be stock. Wings and spoilers are allowed only if they came stock with the car being used. Doors can be stripped to install door bars. Inner fender wells must stay intact. Trunk floor can be trimmed for fuel cell mounting. Firewall must stay intact and all holes patched. Letters must be 18” and if a number is being used they must be at least half the height of the number. Car numbers must be on the top left corner of the windshield screening. Hood and trunk hinges must stay intact.
8. CHASSIS: Front and rear suspension parts must remain stock and remain in stock locations. A brace across the strut towers can be installed. Bolt holes at the top, for the strut, can be altered for caster/camber adjustments. No aftermarket struts, springs or shocks. No aftermarket power steering racks.
9. BRAKES: must be operable on all 4 wheels. No shut off valves or 3 wheel brakes. Master cylinder for the brakes must be stock. No duel master cylinders. Bias adjustment valves are allowed but cannot be within the driver’s reach. All brake lines must be steel or steel braided. Rubber flex lines are not allowed. All rotors and calipers must be stock.
10. BUMPERS: must remain stock. Bumpers can be reinforced with tubing but cannot be made from tubing. No Rub rails or bumpers on the outside of the body. Tow hooks or chains must be installed on both front and rear bumpers.
11. WEIGHT: No added weight will be permitted in the driver’s compartment or mounted outside of the car,. All weight must be bolted with ½” grad 8 bolts with a nylon lock nut and an oversized washer.
12. TIRES AND WHEELS: Steel or Aluminum wheels are acceptable. (If aluminum wheels become a safety issue, steel wheels will be required.) ) No bead locks allowed. 7 inch wide max and “P” series tires only. No winter tread or 50 series tire. Any size rim is allowed as long as they are the same on all four corners. No racing tires or recaps allowed. The tires must have DOT numbers on all to be acceptable.
13. EXHAUST: Stock manifolds only. No headers allowed. Catalytic converters must be removed. The exhaust must exit behind the driver.
14. ENGINES, TRANSMISSIONS AND CLUTCH: must remain stock. No factory performance parts allowed. No turbos allowed. Any 3, 4, or 6 cylinder engines allowed. Cars must be front wheel drive and be in the stock location. No 4 wheel drive trucks allowed. S-10 Style trucks are allowed with no weight being allowed to be added to the truck anywhere.
15. DISCLAIMER: Racing is a DANGEROUS Sport. By competing you are taking responsibility for the safety of yourself and your fellow competitors. All drivers and crew must adhere to general track rules. There are no claims made or implied that these rules are a final fact for your safety. If it needs to be stronger, make it stronger. If it seems to be unsafe, reinforce it. The first and last responsibility for your safety lies on you and the one who does the fabrication of your car. These rules are set to be a guide and are provided for the orderly conduct of our racing program. Any interpretation of these rules is up to the officials and their decisions are not subjected to protest. Just because something is not written in these rules, does not mean that you can do it
